Hosting by Aabaco Web Hosting
This fantastic multi-stone circle is located on a level patch of ground near the top of
low a rounded hill. The site was extensively excavated from 1959-69 by Fahy. The circle
is complete and consists of thirteen stones. They are 1.5m in height, 1.1m to 0.65m in
width and 0.7m to 0.35m in depth. The internal measurement along main axis which is
aligned ENE-WSW, is 9.25m. An external fosse 0.4m in depth and 3.75 in width
surrounds the circle with a bank to the outside 0.2m in height and  3.5m in width with
an overall diameter of 24m. Two pits were found within circle, one of which contained
fragments of cremated bone. A series of conjoined pits containing soil and broken
stone found beneath bank to the east considered contemporary with it. A truly majestic
circle,in a great location and much in keeping with what its original builders intended.
