ROSSNAKILLA STONE ROW
Quiet simply, a fantastic stone row and in near perfect condition. It stands on the crest
of a hill, on a level patch of ground overlooking a valley of the River Lee, with some
breathtaking views. The row consists of three stones, aligned NE-SW, with an overall
length of 7.4m. The NE stone measures 2.05m in height, 1.1m in width and 0.35m in
depth. The middle stone, 1.85m to the SW, measures 1.65m in height, 1.1m in width
and 0.85m in depth. 2.85m SW is the 3rd and tallest stone which measures 2.1m in
height, 1.5m in width and 0.65m in depth. There is a small boulder of quartz at the base
of the tallest stone with what might be some rock-art. The standing stone at
Rossnakilla (SMR No. CO082-057), is located 30m to the NNE of the stone row..
