This fine Portal Tomb, also known as 'Tamlaght Dolmen', is marked on the OS map as
'Chambered Grave' & 'Cloghtogle', (cloch thógála “lifted stone”) and is located west of
the Ballinderry River and 700m NW of the town of Coagh. It is set in a hedge on the
south side of a minor road with a modern water bank close to the south edge. The tomb
consists of a massive rounded capstone set on four supporting stones with other stones
scattered below and around. The capstone slopes west - east and measures 1.6m in
height, 2.8m in length and 2.3m in width. The supporting stones are respectively 1.05m,
1.15m, 0.95m and 0.8m in height. The tomb can become over grown with bushes and
ivy's during the summer months.
