Also known as "Larch Hill Dolmen", this collapsed portal tomb is located on lands of
The Scout Council of Ireland in the town land of Kilmashogue and is marked on the
OSI map as "Dolmen" and on the historic map as "Cromlech". It is sited on the north
west slopes of Kilmashogue Mountain (Sliabh Chill Mochiog), 30m east of the Little
Dargle River which joins the Dodder River further south in Churchtown (Baile an
Teampaill). The tomb faces uphill, with one of the portal stones still standing at a
height of 2.5m and a side stone also remains upright with a sill stone lying on the
ground at the entrance. Close by is the fallen capstone which measures 3.8m in length,
2.65m in width and with a depth of 0.70m.
