

| KNOCKBRACK MEGALTHIC TOMB |

| This fine megalithic tomb, marked on the OS map as 'Labhadermot', is located on the south shore of Sellerna Bay, north of Clifden (An Clochan) and south of Cleggan Court Tomb. The tomb, orientated E - W, is recorded as unclassified but has all the hall-marks of a wedge tomb. The tomb consists of a large roof-stone, measuring 3.5m in length, 1.65m in width and 0.55m in max; depth and is supported by 2 side-stones on the north side,1 side-stone on the south side and a back-stone. The small, narrow chamber measures 2.3m in length and 0.80m in width and a 2nd possible roof-stone, measuring 2.1m in length, 1.7m in width and 0.40m in depth, lies on the ground to the west in front of the tomb. The entire structure is sited on a long, narrow cairn, 7m in length, with small stones scattered downhill to the sea. |
