

| MARBLEHILL PORTAL TOMB |

| This portal tomb, marked on the OS map as 'Cromlech', is located SW of the graveyard at Kilcrimple on a gentle SW facing slope. The collapsed tomb, orientated NW - SE, consists of a small chamber, 2m in length & 1.2m in width, a large, rectangular capstone measuring 2.7m in length, 2.3m in width and 0.60m in depth and two portal stones, now fallen. A door-stone lies prostrate in front of the tomb and the side-stones are buried under the capstone. The interior of the chamber is filled with cairn material and the entire structure is sited in the middle of a round cairn, 6m in diameter. |
