| The Turoe stone is a granite stone decorated in the Celtic La Tene style and is located in the village of Bullaun, County Galway, at Turoe Farm but is now housed in a locked wooden shed. The top half of the stone is covered with a continuous abstract La Tène style design similar to that on the Castlestrange Stone, County Roscommon. It's concentric spirals are carved in low relief to the depth of about 3 cm. The stone is 3 ft tall and phallic in shape. See also Killycluggin in County Cavan. |
