This fantastic slab of rock art is located 300m west of Glounshavanowen river on the north facing slope over looking the Owenalondig river in a valley below. The stone measures 3.7m in length,1.65m in width and a max of 0.50m in depth. On the SE piece of the stone the decoration consists of 30 plain cup marks,a cup-and-radial line, 8 cup marks enclosed by 3 concentric circles. On the NE part of the stone, which is the most spectacular, there is 3 cup - and -3 circles with satellite cup marks and beside this is another cup-and-3 circles with a short radial line from the centre to the third circle. Very similar in size to The Clonfinlough Stone but much more highly decorated. |
