| This cross inscribed ogham stone lies in front of the entrance to Templemanaghan 'Teampall Mhanachain' oratory, on the lower east slopes of Lateevemore over looking Dingle Harbour in its own protected fenced area. Traditionally regarded as marking the grave of St. Manchan it stands 1.75m in height, 0.56m in width and 0.36m in depth. The ogham inscription is on its NE angle and reads " Qeniloci Maqi Maqi-Ainia Muc..".The half-uncial script reads "Fect Queniloc" and on the east face of the stone there is a plain equal-armed cross with a rough equal-armed cross on the west face. Ziegler has dated the stone to 400 - 700 AD. |
