| Located in the drive way of Colaiste Ide is this collection of ogham stones, a bullaun stone and a cross inscribed stone. Of the 7 ogham stones discovered in an ancient burial ground called Kilvickillane on the shore of Smerwick bay, in 1848 four were transferred to Burnham, the seat of Lord Ventry. Stones 5 & 6 are preserved in Chute Hall in Tralee while No. 7 is still on the original site. Another was found in Ballineesteenig village in 1790 while two other's origin is unknown. |
