|DERRYNANE BEG OGHAM STONE
|This ogham stone was rescued by the Office of Public Works from its bed in the sand
below tide-mark, and re-erected on the shore close by. Also known as the 'Caherdanial
Ogham Stone', it is composed of sandstone grit and measures 2.11m in height, 0.51m
in width and 0.3m in depth. The pocked inscription reads "ANM LLATIGNI MAQ
MINERC MUCOI Q--CI" and has been dated by Ziegler to 500 - 550 AD.
