| Situated 100m down a track leading to a farmhouse, this very ruined portal tomb is located 250m west of a small stream that joins the Pil River at Piltown, (Baile an Phoill) before it merges with the River Suir to the south. The massive capstone measuring 5.1m in length, 3.3m in width and 0.70m in depth, has collapsed in on the chamber which was possibly orientated south east. The large south portal stone, measuring 2.2m in length, is pinned under the capstone and a small fragment of the north side-stone is just visible. The tomb is sited on a mound 10m in diameter and 2m in height, with a large tree growing on the west side of the tomb. |
