| This medium sized motte,opposite the 12th century Romanesque church at Killeshin county Laois, is located south of the village,which is on the R430, west of Carlow town. It is similar in size and proportion to Castlegrace motte in Carlow, being about 20m in height,a level top that is about 10m in circumference but with a more commanding position,overlooking vast areas of Laois, Kildare and Carlow. There are no visible remains of masonry suggesting a timber structure existed. |
