| This Court Tomb, marked on the OS map as 'Megaliths', is located in a shallow basin, on a plateau. An oval cairn, measuring 39m NE-SW, 15m NW-SE and 1.75m in height, contains a three chambered gallery, 6.75m in length and 2m in width and is entered from the NE-facing court, 8m NE-SW and 5m NW-SE. Six single wedge-shaped subsidiary chambers, 3.5m x 2m, are contained in the cairn SW of the main gallery. The 2nd court tomb is situated 5m to the SW. An oval cairn, measuring 24m NE-SW, 18m NW-SE and 2m in height, contains a two-chambered gallery, 5m in length and 2.5m -2m in width, opening on to a SW-facing court, and a small chamber, possibly a subsidiary chamber, at the NE end of the cairn. |
