LISDUFF WEDGE TOMB
This large Wedge Tomb, marked on the OS map as 'Dolmen' but not marked on the
Historic map, is located east of Ballindine, 'Baile an Daighin' just off the R328. The
tomb, orientated NE - SW, consists of three chambers 10m in overall length, with seven
roof-stones, three at the back still in place and side walling the full length of the
chambers. Cairn material fills the inside of the chambers making it difficult to out-line
their division. Outer walling is most evident on the east side and a large blocking stone
lies recumbent at the entrance. The entire structure is surrounded by a cairn 14m in
length, 6m in width at the front and is 1.3m in max; height.
