The skeletal remains of this Passage Tomb, marked on both the OS and Historic maps
as 'Cloghogle Stone', are located on top of a natural mound, 10m in height, SW of the
village of Knockcroghery, 'Cnoc an Chrochaire', just off the N61. The tomb now
consists of the remains of a rectangular chamber, 1.6m in length and 1.4m in width,
that is formed by three well matched, wall slabs and covered by a large roof-stone 2.3m
in length, 1.6m in width and 1.2m in depth. The kerb stones from the tomb, are located
3m down-slope from the chamber and is most evident at the south, west and north
sides. All around the mound are scattered other large boulders, which are possibly the
remains of the cairn.
