| This Stone Row is situated at the base of the north slope of a small hillock, which in turn is on the SE-facing slope of a ridge in an upland area. It consists of a row of four stones, aligned NE-SW, with a possible 5th stone measuring 1.3m in length, 0.45m in width 0.2m in depth lying prostate near a gap in the row and with an overall length of 7.63m. These limestone orthostats are set in a slight hollow with little evidence of packing-stones, although there are tufts of grass around the bases. The largest standing stone measures 1.78m in height, 1.56m in width and 0.4m in depth, at SW end, has a hole in the SE face into which hands were dipped as a cure for warts. From NE to SW the remaining three stones measure: 1st stone, 1.05m in height, 0.76m in width and 0.3m in depth. The 2nd stone measures 1.56m in height, 1.47m in width and 0.28m in depth. And the 3rd stone measures 0.95m in height, 0.8m in width and 0.53m in depth. |
