| Located in pasture on a broad plateau and marked on the OSI map as "Cromlech", stands this wonderful portal tomb which is 200m south-west of a head water of the Annestown River (Sruh Bhun Abha). Its oval capstone which measures 4m in length, 2.65m in width, and 0.7m in depth, is resting on the door-stone and back-stone. A cushion-stone rests between the capstone and the back-stone. The tomb, which faces south-west, lacks portal-stones but the side-stones are present. Excavated in 1939-40 when cremated bone, flint and charcoal were found in the chamber and now has a concrete pillar supporting the capstone at the rear. |
